Is The DJI Mini 3 Pro Waterproof? – Drone Reviews

The DJI Mini 3 Pro is one of my favourite drones and probably the best Mini drone I have flown. It’s small, lightweight, comes with some fantastic features and has really set the standard for sub-250g drones. But a question that often arises for this drone is: Is the DJI Mini 3 Pro waterproof? In this article, we will address whether the DJI Mini 3 Pro is waterproof and offer guidance for those wishing to operate it in rainy conditions or over water while also discussing how to minimise the associated risks.

Water Resistance vs. Waterproof

Before we proceed, it’s essential to differentiate between water resistance and waterproofing. A water-resistant device can handle splashes or short periods of flying in rain without getting damaged. On the other hand, a waterproof device can be submerged in water for extended periods and still function correctly.

As we shall see, the DJI Mini 3 Pro is not waterproof but has some degree of water resistance.

Is The DJI Mini 3 Pro Waterproof?

The short answer is no; the DJI Mini 3 Pro is not waterproof. DJI has made it clear in the manual that users should not fly the Mini 3 Pro in the rain, snow, fog, mist, hail and high winds.

Drones that are classed as waterproof usually come with an IP (Ingress Protection) rating.

An IP rating is a standard used to measure how well electrical enclosures are sealed against dirt and liquid intrusion.. The rating typically consists of two numbers: the first number indicates protection against solid particles, while the second number indicates protection against liquids.

The DJI Mini 3 Pro, like many other consumer drones, does not come with an IP rating. This means that it’s not certified to withstand prolonged or significant water contact.

However, it does have some degree of water resistance. This means that while it can handle light rain or moisture, it is not designed to be submerged in water or flown in heavy rainfall. Watch the video below as the DJI Mini 3 Pro is tested to see how it performs in the rain.

From a personal perspective, I never fly my drone in any kind of adverse weather, and I always advise the same for others. However, if you want or are required to operate your drone in the rain or over water, there are accessories that will minimise the risks of flying in these conditions.

  • Resist the temptation to power on the drone to see if it works. This can cause a short circuit and permanent damage.
  • Dry the Drone
  • Use a cloth or towel to pat down the drone and remove as much water as possible.
  • Place the drone in a bag of uncooked rice or use silica gel packets. These materials can help absorb moisture. Leave it for at least 48 hours.
  • Alternatively, you can use a fan or place the drone in a well-ventilated area to aid the drying process. Avoid using a hairdryer or any direct heat source, as this can damage the drone’s components.

Inspect for Damage

  • After you’re certain the drone is dry, inspect it for any visible damage. Pay close attention to the motors, camera, and sensors.
  • Check the Battery
  • The battery is particularly sensitive to water. If it was submerged or got wet, it’s best to replace it. Using a damaged battery can be hazardous.

Test the Drone

  • Once everything is dry and inspected, power on the drone in a safe, open area. Monitor its behaviour closely. If it behaves erratically or you notice any issues, turn it off immediately.
  • Consider Professional Help
  • If you’re unsure about the drone’s condition or if it’s not functioning correctly after drying, consider seeking assistance from a professional drone repair service.

To avoid accidents, consider investing in waterproof accessories. I have already mentioned the Phantom Rain wetsuit for the DJI Air 3, they also have a rescue jacket/float that users can attach to the drone that will stop it from being submerged in water.

Always be cautious when flying near bodies of water, and be aware of environmental factors like wind that can push your drone off course.

Remember, even if you follow all these steps, there’s no guarantee that your drone will be fully functional again. Water damage can be unpredictable, and some components might be permanently damaged. Always prioritise safety and consider the drone’s warranty or insurance options for such incidents.

8 Best Waterproof Drones (Updated For 2023) – Drone Reviews

Drones have revolutionised how we capture aerial footage and images, providing an innovative perspective on our world. However, a standard drone is often not enough for those working in challenging environments or who want to take their drone experiences to the next level. That’s where waterproof drones come in. These specialised drones are designed to withstand harsh weather conditions, making them ideal for outdoor enthusiasts and professionals who need to capture aerial data in rain, snow, or other inclement weather. Unfortunately, only a few drones have been certified to be waterproof, and those that are expensive. In this article, we shall explore what makes a drone waterproof, who certifies a drone to be waterproof and the best waterproof drones on the market.

What Makes A Drone Waterproof?

A waterproof drone has several vital components that make it resistant to water damage. The main features include the following:

Waterproof housing: The body of the drone is usually made from a waterproof material such as plastic or rubber designed to keep water out.

Sealed components: All the internal components of the drone, such as the battery, motors, and electronics, are sealed to prevent water from entering and damaging them.

Floatation devices: Some waterproof drones come equipped with floatation devices to keep them afloat in water, making it easier to retrieve them if they land or crash into the water.

Certification Of Waterproof Drones

Waterproof drones are specially designed to withstand exposure to water and damp conditions. They are built with waterproof materials and sealed components to prevent water damage and allow for safe operation in and around water bodies. The certification process for waterproof drones is designed to ensure that they meet a set of standards that make them suitable for use in wet conditions.

To ensure that a drone is suitable for use in wet conditions, it must be certified by a recognised organisation. The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) has developed a standard for waterproof drones, IEC 60529, also known as an IP rating.

The IP rating consists of two numbers: the first relates to the level of protection against solid objects, and the second refers to the level of protection against liquids.

For example, an IP rating of IP67 means that the device is completely protected against dust and can withstand being soaked in water up to a depth of 1 meter. The initial number (6) symbolizes the extent of safeguarding against solid objects, and the subsequent number (7) represents the standard of protection against liquids.

This standard outlines the requirements for waterproof drones and the testing procedures that must be followed to ensure they meet the necessary requirements.

Benefits & Uses Of Waterproof Drones

Waterproof drones have the same applications as other drones; however, one significant benefit is that they can be utilised in wet weather.

Rescue and search operations: Waterproof drones can be used in search and rescue operations in and around water bodies, such as lakes, rivers, and oceans. They can be used to locate and monitor individuals who are in distress, helping to speed up rescue efforts.

Surveying and mapping: Waterproof drones can survey and map construction sites, farmland, mining pits etc. Waterproof drones are a game changer in these industries as the weather will not always be a hindrance in gathering aerial data, which will be a massive benefit to these industries.

Inspection and maintenance: Waterproof drones are used to inspect and maintain infrastructure, such as bridges, dams, and pipelines.

Security: Waterproof drones are suitable for security purposes as they provide aerial surveillance, border patrol, and quick response in the event of a security breach. They are equipped with sensors, thermal imaging cameras, loudspeakers, and flares. Drones offer a flexible and cost-effective solution for security but raise privacy concerns, so responsible use is important to ensure regulations and guidelines are followed.

Fishing & Hunting: Waterproof drones can be used in fishing and hunting to provide valuable information and tools that enhance the efficiency and success of these activities. They can be used for surveying fishing spots and monitoring fishing activity, spotting schools of fish and other wildlife, assisting in recovery efforts, and performing aerial mapping and reconnaissance. With their cameras and other sensors, waterproof drones provide hunters and anglers with an aerial perspective, which will allow them to make more informed decisions, locate their target more effectively, and increase their chances of success.

Potensic Atom SE Review (Updated For 2023)

Potensic Atom SE Review Summary

Potensic Atom SE Review

This review of the Potensic Atom SE has been updated for 2023; it remains one of the best drones in its price range and one of the best alternatives to the DJI Mini 2 and Mini SE.

The Potensic Atom SE stands out as an exceptional drone in the sub-250g category and is a good option for people looking for a cheap drone for photography. Its main feature is undoubtedly the HD camera, equipped with a 1/3-inch Sony image sensor. This allows for the capture of stunning 4K videos and sharp 12MP photos. Enhanced with EIS anti-shake technology, the camera ensures minimal distortion, delivering high-quality imagery. The Potensic Atom SE comes with a suite of intelligent flight modes, such as the follow me feature and an automatic return-to-home function. The drone has an impressive flight time of 31 minutes and a video transmission range of 4km.

Key Features

  • HD camera with 1/3-inch Sony image sensor
  • 12MP images
  • Electronic image stabilisation
  • Records 4k videos at 30fps and 2.7k at 30fps
  • 40Mbps
  • Intelligent flight modes
  • 31 minutes of flight time
  • 4km transmission range
  • 4K camera with electronic image stabilisation
  • The camera can capture still images in RAW format
  • The drone does not require FAA registration
  • Long flight time
  • Advanced features include auto return to home and follow me mode
  • No obstacle avoidance
  • Lacks a 3-axis gimbal
  • Noticeable video shakiness

When I first laid eyes on the Potensic Atom SE, do you know which drone came to mind? Yup, that’s right, the DJI Mavic Mini SE. Potensic won’t be the first company to try and emulate the design of DJI drones. Many have done so, and some to great success; the trick is if they can persuade customers that their product is just as good if not better than the original. So, is the Potensic Atom SE on par with the DJI Mini SE? Well, that is what we are here to find out. In this Potensic Atom SE review, we shall explore the drone’s main features, how it performs and if it’s a worthy alternative to the Mini SE.

Potensic Atom SE Review

The Atom SE is one of Potensic’s most aesthetically pleasing drones. Compact and lightweight, it’s designed for easy storage and portability. Its appearance draws parallels with the DJI Mini series, notably the Mini SE and Mini 2, characterised by an elegant all-white colour scheme and foldable arms. Each arm is designed with landing legs, with the front ones being slightly elongated compared to the rear, ensuring a safer landing experience.

Under the hood, the drone is powered by robust brushless motors. The propellers are screwed on individually; they don’t come in pairs, so matching each propeller to its designated motor is crucial. The rear houses the battery compartment, neatly positioned above the charging port and micro SD card slot.

It’s worth noting that the package doesn’t include a micro SD card, so investing in a class 10 or U1 card, ranging from 4GB to 256GB, is advisable.

The drone’s underside is equipped with ventilation units for optimal cooling. It also features a couple of optical flow sensors and a ToF sensor. These sensors play a pivotal role in enhancing flight stabilisation, particularly in locales with weaker GPS signal.

Potensic Atom SE Remote Controller

Potensic Atom SE Review

This is a nice small controller that extends from the left-hand side, which creates some space in the middle to insert your mobile device; this is similar to the controller of the Fimi X8 drone. It has a pair of foldable antennas on top and is powered by an internal lithium 1S battery.

There are not a lot of buttons, unlike the RC-N1 controller for the DJI Mini SE; it has a button for power and automatic return to home, as well as a couple of buttons on the top to record videos and images. There is also a dial that will allow you to control the pitch of the camera angle.

To access the drone’s more advanced features, you must download the PotensicPro App. This decent App is easy to use and even comes with some tutorial videos to help you get started. The App provides access to the camera settings and intelligent flight modes and displays the drone’s flight data.

Potensic Atom SE Camera

Potensic Atom SE Review

The camera is one of the main features of any drone, and this is no different for the Atom SE. The camera on the Potensic Atom SE will be one of the reasons why people decide to purchase this drone.

The camera has a 1/3-inch Sony image sensor with a 118° FOV that can capture 12MP images in both RAW and JPEG format and records video footage in 4k at 30fps, 2.7k at 30fps and 1080p at 60fps and has a recording speed of 40Mbps.

You can also stream live video feed to your smartphone at 720p thanks to the PixSync 2.0 transmission technology.

The camera is stabilised by a 2-axis gimbal and comes with an electronic image stabilisation (EIS) feature, which enhances the overall stabilisation feature.

This EIS feature works well and minimises any distortion from the images and photos, although it’s not perfect, and you may notice some shaky effects.

This is a very good camera, especially for its price, and it is one of the best cheap drones that is suitable for photography.

Check out the video quality below; as you shall see, the quality is pretty good; however, there is camera movement that is noticeable in the video. However, this is not a drone for professionals, so these small distortions shouldn’t be an issue.

Flight Features

The drone has 3 speed modes, video, normal and sports; the difference between each flight mode is the speed the drone can reach. In video mode, which is essentially like the Cine mode on the Mini SE, the drone has a maximum speed of 13 mph. In normal mode, it can reach 22 mph; in sports mode, the drone reaches its maximum speed of 35 mph.

Even at its fastest speed, the video feed is very stable for a drone that has no gimbal stabilisation. Potensic has done a very good job with its EIS feature.

There is a beginner mode that limits the drone’s altitude and distance to 30 meters; this is for absolute beginners who want to practice their flying skills before using the drone’s advanced features.

You can also turn off the GPS by flying in altitude mode; however, you should only fly in this mode if you are an experienced drone pilot or if you are flying in a wide-open area.

The maximum video transmission range is 4km, although most people will not be allowed to fly this far out because of regulations.

Potensic Atom SE Intelligent Flight Modes

The drone comes with three intelligent flight modes, they include the following:

Circle/Orbit: The drone locks onto your smartphone and will fly around your position. You can set the speed, height and distance.

Follow me: As the name suggests, the drone will follow you by locking on your smartphone.

Waypoint: This mode allows you to draw a flight path on the App’s map, and the drone will automatically fly along that route.

The drone also has an automatic return-to-home feature that is activated when the battery gets low on charge, or the communication between the controller and drone is lost for a few seconds.

Although these features are fun to use, they should only be used in wide-open areas to minimise the risk of crashing into something.

Potensic Atom SE vs DJI Mini SE

People will inevitably compare the Potensic Atom SE against the DJI Mini SE; they are similar drones in looks and features, but which one is better? That really depends on what you are looking for. The Potensic Atom SE has a camera that can record actual 4k videos and capture 12MP images in JPEG and RAW format.

On the other hand, the DJI Mini SE only records in 2.7k at 30fps, but it does come with a 3-axis gimbal which provides superior stabilisation. However, for images, the Mini SE only captures in JPEG format.

Both drones have similar flight times and transmission ranges; while the Atom SE comes with autonomous flight mode, the DJI Mini SE does not.

There are other differences, but these are the major ones; which one would I recommend? I would personally go for the DJI Mini SE, but that’s probably because it’s a DJI drone, and I’m a huge fan.

The Atom SE is a very good alternative to the Mini SE and, in some areas, has better features.

As always, potential buyers should research specific models and read reviews to ensure they’re getting a drone that meets their needs and expectations.

Do You Need To Register Potensic Atom SE?

If you live in the USA and use it purely for recreational purposes, you will not need to register it with the FAA. However, if you are entirely new to drones, you will need to take the Recreational UAS Safety Test (TRUST).

In the UK, the laws are different; even though the drone weighs less than 250g, you must obtain an Operator and Flyer ID from the CAA.

If you live elsewhere, please check and comply with local rules and regulations.

Final Thoughts

The Potensic Atom SE is a good beginner-friendly drone that is easy and fun to fly. It comes with some advanced features, mainly its 4k camera with EIS anti-shake technology. Although the video and image quality is not as good as the DJI Mini 2 and Mini SE, for its price, it is definitely worth considering.

There is also a money-back guarantee should you fail the FAA test; this includes the course and test fee.

Cost – $299 – If you book in bulk, there are some significant discounts available.

4. Dart Drones

If you are an enthusiastic follower of the TV show Shark Tank, you may have heard of this new drone training company.

Their CEO, Abby Speicher, got a $300,000 deal from Mark Cuban for a 10% stake in the company. Since then, Dart Drones has gone from strength to strength, They offer the widest range of drone-related courses on this list, and the company continues to grow rapidly.

They offer an in-person and online course for the Part 107 test.

With the course, you get access to an e-learning portal where you will get access to study guides, monthly review webinars, practice tests, access to the main course instructor and lifetime access with free updates.

Cost – $47pm/$470pa – Unlike all the other courses on this list, Drone U offers a subscription service. The price is very reasonable for what you get; every course is available to you and not just the Part 107 prep course.

However, if you just want the Part 107 prep course, it’s still a very good deal, as you can use their material for as long as you need and then cancel the subscription once you have passed the test.

Final Thoughts

The courses I have listed above have some of the best reviews for the Part 107 test; however, there are lots of others, and you may want to search around and find one that is more suitable for your needs.

There are free study guides provided by the FAA, but unless you have a solid background in aviation rules, this is not the most suitable course of action for most people.

Do I Need A Part 107 License? – Drone Reviews

Are you interested in becoming a commercial drone pilot but are unsure if you need to obtain a Part 107 license? To operate as a professional drone pilot, it’s imperative to have a strong understanding of the FAA regulations and requirements. Getting your Part 107 license is an important step that can open doors when it comes to utilising drones for business purposes. In this blog post, we’ll answer the question, “Do I need a Part 107 license?” and explore how you can obtain this license and what you can do after you have passed the test.

Do I Need A Part 107 License?

The FAA Part 107 license (or certificate) is a requirement for operating a drone for commercial purposes in the United States. This license is necessary for individuals or companies who wish to use drones for activities such as aerial photography, videography, real estate inspections, and crop monitoring, among others.

The FAA Part 107 license involves passing an aeronautical knowledge test and completing a background check. The test covers topics such as airspace classification, weather, and emergency procedures. Once the license is obtained, it is valid for two years and must be renewed every 24 months.

There are several reasons why obtaining a Part 107 license is essential for commercial drone operators:

Safety: The FAA is responsible for ensuring the safety of aircraft and individuals on the ground. By obtaining a Part 107 license, operators demonstrate that they have the knowledge and skills to safely operate a drone in the national airspace.

Legality: Operating a drone for commercial purposes without a Part 107 license is illegal and can result in fines and penalties. Obtaining a Part 107 license ensures that the operator complies with federal regulations.

Competitive Advantage: With the increasing popularity of drones in various industries, having a Part 107 license can give operators a competitive advantage by demonstrating their knowledge and skills to potential clients.

Access to airspace: With a Part 107 license, operators are allowed to fly in Class G airspace without seeking permission from the FAA. Drone operators can also fly at night (as long as the drone has an anti-collision beacon) and fly over people and moving vehicles. In addition, with a waiver, operators can also fly in airspace that is restricted or prohibited.

Overall, obtaining a Part 107 license is essential for individuals and companies wishing to operate drones for commercial purposes in the United States. It ensures compliance with federal regulations, demonstrates knowledge and skills, and can help mitigate liability.

Do Recreational Drone Pilots Need The Part 107 License?

As has been established, the FAA Part 107 license is only a requirement for drone pilots who want to fly drones for commercial purposes.

Recreational drone pilots are not required to obtain the FAA Part 107 license. However, they must pass the Recreational UAS Safety Test (TRUST). This test has been developed by the FAA and leaders of the drone industry to ensure that recreational drone pilots operate drones safely. The test is administered by FAA-approved organisations and is taken online. Once the test is completed, pilots will get a certificate which they must always carry around whenever they are flying their drones.

However, I advise people to take the Part 107 test and obtain the license as you may want to make money with drones in the future.

How Long Does It Take To Study For The FAA Part 107 Test?

The amount of time needed to study for the FAA Part 107 aeronautical knowledge test can vary depending on an individual’s prior knowledge and experience with aviation. Some people may be able to pass the test with minimal studying, while others may need more time to prepare.

The FAA recommends that test takers study the FAA’s Remote Pilot Study Guide, which covers the material that will be on the test. FAA provides the study guide, and it’s free of charge.

On average, it’s recommended to dedicate around 20-30 hours of study time to prepare for the test, although this can vary depending on the person and their learning style. It’s also important to note that the test is timed, so it’s important to practice taking the test under similar time constraints to get an idea of how much time you need to complete it.

Although the FAA provides free material to prepare for the test, there are many courses that can enhance your chances of passing on the first go.

These courses provide a streamlined and structured approach that will make learning and understanding the fundamental concepts behind the Part 107 test easier.

These are paid courses and boast over 99% success rate with their students. One of the best courses for the Part 107 test is from the Pilot Institute. The course is delivered by experienced instructors who deeply understand the drone industry and its regulations.

The course consists of 15 hours of interactive video content and includes multiple practice tests and quizzes to help you prepare in the best possible way for the exam.

The company also offers a full refund should you fail to pass the test.

do i need a part 107 license

How Hard Is The FAA Part 107 Test?

The FAA Part 107 aeronautical knowledge test is considered to be a challenging test, as it covers a wide range of topics related to the operation of drones in the USA. The test is designed to evaluate an individual’s knowledge of the material and their ability to apply it rather than just memorising facts.

The test consists of 60 multiple-choice questions and is timed for 2 hours. The questions cover various topics such as airspace classification, weather, and emergency procedures. The passing score is 70%, which means the candidates must answer at least 42 questions correctly.

However, with proper preparation and studying, the test can be passed. As I have stated, purchasing a high-rated training course like the one offered by the Pilot Institute will enhance your chances of passing the first time around.

Can I Take The FAA Part 107 Test Online?

Unfortunately, the FAA does not provide any way for candidates to take the Part 107 test online due to various issues.

The FAA Part 107 aeronautical knowledge test can be taken in person at one of the FAA-approved testing centres. There are currently around 800 FAA-approved testing centres, so there’s likely a test centre near you.

How Much Does The Part 107 Test Cost?

The fee for the Part 107 test is currently $175, paid to the FAA, and is non-refundable. If you purchase a training course or additional reading material, that may cost an additional $100-$300. In total, you may spend around $175-$400 to pass the Part 107 test.

Final Thoughts

Though not every pilot needs a Part 107 license, having one gives you more flexibility to make money with your drone. Getting your license is relatively easy, and many resources are available to help you succeed. If you are serious about making money as a drone pilot, investing the time in getting your Part 107 license is worth it.

If you are looking to get into professional drone photography, you do not need to break the bank to purchase a drone that will meet your professional requirements.

In fact, some of the most advanced drones for capturing stunning photos are priced under $1000. When I first penned this article a few years back, the DJI Air 2S had just hit the market. Even then, it stood out as the premier choice in its price category, and it remains in 2023 the best drone under $1000.

However, while the DJI Air 2S sits at the higher end of the $1000 spectrum, it’s essential to note that other equally impressive yet more budget-friendly alternatives are available. Notable mentions include the DJI Mini 3 Pro and the Mini 3, both of which pack a punch with their high-end features but come at a much cheaper price.

4 Best Drones Under 1000 Dollars

1. DJI Air 2S

Best drones under $1000

Released a couple of years ago, the DJI Air 2S remains one of the best drones for photography and definitely the best drone under 1000 dollars.

The drone’s compact design, weighing less than 600 grams, makes it portable and easy to transport. The drone comes with a host of intelligent features that make it easy and fun to capture amazing videos and photos.

The DJI Air 2S’s camera is one of the best for aerial photography, equipped with a 1-inch CMOS sensor that ensures each shot is rich in detail and colour.

This larger sensor size is particularly advantageous for low-light scenarios, ensuring images remain crisp, vibrant, and noise-free. One of the standout features of this camera is its 10-bit D-Log M colour profile, which can capture a staggering one billion colours. This not only brings out the nuances in every scene but also offers a depth and vibrancy that truly immerses the viewer in the environment.

Also, for those keen on post-production tweaks, the ability to shoot in RAW format is invaluable. With a dynamic range stretching up to 12.6 stops, it ensures that every detail, whether in shadows or highlights, is captured with precision, offering unparalleled flexibility in editing.

The camera’s digital zoom feature, which provides up to 8x zoom in 1080p/30fps mode, allows photographers to get closer to their subjects without physically moving the drone.

The drone has a maximum flight time of 31 minutes, which is probably one of its flaws (most of the other drones on this list exceed this flight time) and has a video transmission range of 12km.

The drone comes with a host of intelligent features that elevate the photography experience. Its Intelligent HDR technology merges multiple shots, enhancing the dynamic range for richer images.

MasterShots, which is an evolution of the Quickshot feature, allows users to capture cinematic sequences by executing ten distinct manoeuvres at the push of a button.

The drone comes with several autonomous flight modes, such as ActiveTrack 4.0, Point of Interest 3.0, and Spotlight 2.0. 4. DJI Mini 2

best cheap drones for photography

It’s been a few years since the release of the DJI Mini 2, although it still remains one of the best cheap drones for photography.

This was an innovative drone at the time of its release; it was the first sub-250g drone that came with a 4K camera.

The camera, stabilised by a motorised 3-axis gimbal, captures images in 12MP in both RAW and JPEG formats and can record 4K videos at 30fps. These features were a huge upgrade to the original Mavic Mini, which is why the Mini 2 remains a popular drone.

The drone comes with a good flight time of 30 minutes, and utilising DJI’s OcuSync 2.0 technology, it can stream live video footage from a range of 10km. The drone also comes with a couple of intelligent features, such as Quickshots and automatic return to home.

While it’s a letdown that the drone lacks autonomous flight modes like follow me, point of Interest, and waypoint, the drone is compatible with third-party apps such as Litchi that provide these functionalities.

5. DJI Mini 2 SE

best cheap drones for photography

The DJI Mini 2 SE is a very popular drone right now, and this is primarily because it is one of the most affordable drones for photography.

In terms of design and features, it’s nearly identical to the DJI Mini 2. The camera sensor is the same, and it can capture 12MP images in RAW and JPEG; however, for videos it can only record in 2.7K at 30fps.

The rest of the features are more or less the same, it has 31 minutes of flight time, uses OcuSync 2.0 technology for a range of 10km and comes with 5 Quickshots for one-click video creation.

The drone does not come with intelligent flight modes such as follow me, orbit and waypoint and unlike the Mini 2, it is not compatible with any third-party apps because DJI has not released an SDK for the Mini 2 SE, and it does not look like they will.

However, it is the cheapest drone on this list and for its price, it is an excellent choice.
