Leopard Imaging to Launch LI-AGO-BOX-GM2A-8CAM Edge AI Box supporting up to 8 cameras at Embedded Vision Summit

Leopard Imaging Inc. (Leopard Imaging), a global leader in intelligent embedded camera design and manufacturing, is going to showcase its latest state-of-the-art AI BOX LI-AGO-BOX-GM2A-8CAM at Embedded Vision Summit.

The LI-AGO-BOX-GM2A-8CAM is a powerful computing solution that supports up to 8 cameras and comes with massive computing capabilities. Its robust design features a shock-resistant connector, active hybrid cooling system, waterproof body, and other essential terminal device-friendly features that make it highly reliable for both indoor and outdoor use.

The LI-AGO-BOX-GM2A-8CAM is built with a high-performance NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin processor, making it capable of running complex AI algorithms, including object detection, tracking, and classification. It is an ideal solution for various applications, such as robotics, smart city surveillance, traffic monitoring, and industrial automation.

ADLINK Technology at Embedded World 2023: Accelerating Technology Innovation for Autonomous Driving

ADLINK Technology Inc., a global leader in edge computing, will be at Embedded World 2023 to showcase its responses to trends in the embedded market. There will be multiple demonstrations on the stand to showcase AI at the edge for autonomous driving, machine vision, robotics, and more. Showcasing this capability, there will be a live autonomous driving proof-of-concept (PoC) demonstration, together with our partners Tier IV and Ouster, which meets different autonomous driving applications from levels 1 to 4. The car combines four Tier IV C1 cameras and an Ouster OS1-32 LiDAR sensor with ADLINK’s RQX-590 high-performance ROS2-enabled embedded robotic controller and AVA-3510 AI-enabled autonomous driving system. Showcasing its comprehensive customization services, ADLINK will also demonstrate a fully customized production-grade autonomous driving solution with an integrated liquid cooling system.

Another first at the show will be the unveiling of ADLINK’s powerful, discrete graphics card on the embedded MXM form factor, the MXM-AXe. It integrates the latest Intel® ARC™ A-Series graphics processor for Mobile, code-named Alchemist. Leveraging Intel’s well-established graphics ecosystems, such as OpenVINO™ for AI and Intel® OneAPI (including Intel® MediaSDK) management tools, that edge developers have enjoyed and relied on for years, it makes migration from integrated to discrete graphics seamless and fully transparent.

As experts in the design and manufacture of custom and standard embedded hardware solutions, ADLINK will showcase a selection of its wide range of standard Edge AI platform products and solutions. Featuring the latest technologies from Intel®, NVIDIA® and Arm®, these include next-generation industrial boards and fanless embedded PCs, low power Arm®-based IIoT gateway and industrial-grade multi-display digital signage solutions. In addition, the ADLINK ASD+ industrial-grade high-performance SSD family series will be unveiled.

Visitors to the stand will also see a variety of live demonstrations, including the latest in industrial-grade touchscreen technology featuring 7H hardness, IP65 protection on the front panel, and backlight life of up to 50,000 hours. The open-frame (OM series) and true-flat (IM series) monitors are designed to visualize intelligence at the edge. With responsive touch control, they feature a 10-point multi-touch capability for smooth zoom, flick, rotate, pinch, and other functions. The anti-fingerprint surface treatment on the touchscreen eases cleaning and enhances readability. The in-plane switching (IPS) monitors with wide viewing angles display immersive visuals for better color and contrast, outstanding color accuracy, and screen consistency compared with vertical alignment (VA) and twisted nematic (TN) monitors.

For efficient edge, IoT multitasking with industrial-grade stability, ADLINK introduces its latest COM Express and COM-HPC modules based on Intel® 13th Gen Core™ processors, code-named Raptor Lake.

The Express-RLP COM Express (COM.0 R3.1) Type 6 module offers up to 14 cores, 20 threads, 64GB DDR5 SO-DIMM, PCIe Gen4, and an extremely rugged option at 15/28/45W TDP. The COM-HPC-cRLS Client Type Size C module offers up to 24 cores, 128GB DDR5 SO-DIMM, PCIe Gen5, 2x 2.5GbE LAN, and is also available in an extremely rugged option. Supporting Intel® TCC, and Time Sensitive Networking (TSN), the modules are fitted for hard-real-time computing workloads required by applications such as industrial automation, autonomous driving, AI robots, and aviation.

ADLINK’s all-in-one AI camera development kit makes prototyping and testing of Edge AI vision systems easy and straightforward. All of the hardware and software are provided and pre-installed with a full range of interfaces, including DI/O, COM, and LAN ports, as well as an array of optional accessories. The GUI-based development tool provides a low-code environment with software tools for labeling and training, and two open-source selected models so users can build a PoC without AI expertise.

For state-of-the-art mission-critical products with AI enablement, where failure is not an option and time to deployment is key, ADLINK’s experts will be delighted to share its solutions. DRONE VOLT announces LineDrone meets all of HydroQuébec’s technical requirements

DRONE VOLT, expert in embedded artificial intelligence and manufacturer of professional
civilian drones, announces that its first version of the LineDrone meets all of HydroQuébec’s technical requirements.

DRONE VOLT announces that the recent tests, both in laboratory and outside on energised
transmission lines have made it possible to obtain Hydro-Québec’s green light to offer, as of
January 2023, demonstrations and services for inspecting conductor joints.

The objective of the recent tests was to validate the proper functioning of the drone and sensor
(the LineOhm), their ability to carry out inspection missions, and generate data to allow the precise
evaluation of joint degradation.

DRONE VOLT will thus be able to carry out in the next few days these first demonstrations with
its customers. The group has also built dedicated infrastructures on its UTAC site to train its pilots
and make the first presentations.

“This is the conclusion of a long process initiated in 2020” says Marc Courcelle, CEO of DRONE
VOLT. “The upcoming launch of the LineDrone is a culmination for all the DRONE VOLT teams
who have worked tirelessly for the past 3 years, sometimes under difficult conditions, especially

Amazon Drone Delivery Video Reveals Delivery Mode and More

The newly release Amazon drone delivery video, embedded below, shows off Amazon‘s latest aircraft model – and reveals their proposed mode of delivery. Amazon’s delivery program is set to begin in California and Texas later this year.

Amazon was represented at a recent White House Summit on Advanced Air Mobility, where they discussed gaining public acceptance for drone delivery and other applications with other industry stakeholders. The Amazon drone delivery video is a stunning communications effort, fascinating to drone industry followers and any resident wondering what the service will look like – while explaining the process of engineering and testing that’s been in the works since 2013.

It sounds like science fiction, but it’s happening. We’re building fully electric drones that deliver packages under 5 pounds to customers in less than 60 minutes. To make the system work, we’re focused on these three components:

The body of the drone: We’ve developed a robust drone using the same aerospace standards that design safety into our system, that is just as reliable as the ground transportation methods that serve our customers today.
The brain: This sense-and-avoid system ensures the aircraft is able to detect and stay away from obstacles in the air and on the ground, such as other aircraft or people and pets in backyards. With this system, our drone can encounter new, unexpected situations and still make safe decisions—autonomously and safely.
The rules: We are creating an automated drone-management system to plan our flight paths and ensure there are safe distances between our aircraft and other aircraft in the area, and that we’re complying with all aviation regulations.

One of the most interesting aspects of the video for the curious is the demonstration of loading and delivery. Payload appears to be loaded into an integrated compartment on the drone. The drone comes in low – it’s unclear exactly what the altitude is – but and spits out the package onto the ground without landing. Amazon’s method seems to differ significantly from Walmart’s tether drop system, or some of Zipline’s drops which involve a parachute to gently deliver packages from a height.

The development of Amazon’s drone delivery program has been fascinating to watch. Seeing the program launch is something of a step forward for the industry, demonstrating that the technology has evolved to be safe and reliable even at the vast scale that retail giants like Amazon represent.
